Roblox has a great community made up of players and developers of many ages, and we want to create a safe and fun environment for everyone. If you ever see other users breaking the rules, we have tools in place to help you report any inappropriate behavior.
For information about blocking another user from contacting or chatting, please read the Blocking A User help article.
Reporting violations
If another user is breaking Roblox rules, please use the Report Abuse feature located throughout the site to report this to our moderators. There are different ways to report abuse, based on what is being reported, but anything you see that is inappropriate can be reported.
Reporting a game
To report an entire game, you can use the red Report Abuse button in the lower right-hand corner of the Description box on the game's About page. You will find this Report Abuse button in this location both on the site and mobile app.
You will be directed to another page where you can fill out the report form, then press the green Report Abuse button.
Reporting other assets
If there is an item in the catalog or library (such as a shirt, game pass, or model) that is breaking the rules, these my be reported by clicking on the button that looks like three dots in the upper right hand corner of the item's information box. Press Report item and then fill out the form and then press the green Report Abuse button. This Report item button will be located in the same location for items both on the website and mobile app.
Reporting chat
To report chat made by another user on the site, press the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the chat window to open the Chat Details. From here, press the button next to the user name that looks like the three dots, then press Report. Press the red Report button to continue to the report form then fill it out and then press the green Report Abuse button.
To report chat made by another user on the mobile app, press the gear icon in the upper-right hand corner of the screen, then select Report Abuse.
Select REPORT to continue to the report form. Select the appropriate option from the choices provided, fill in the comment section if needed, then press the blue Submit button.
When reporting abuse, please be sure to report the specific Chat, Private Message, or other Content that violates Roblox rules. If you just report a user from their profile page, our moderators won't be able to see what they're doing wrong if it's not visible on the profile page, and may not be able to moderate their account.
The Report Abuse buttons are the best way to let us know about rule-breakers and bad content. They send reports directly to our moderators and provide a way for us to keep track of repeat offenders so that further steps can be taken against their account.
Reporting a user-created advertisement
To report an Ad made by another user on the site, press Report below the right hand side of the Ad image. When the page reloads, then fill out the form and then press the green Report Abuse button.
Reporting abuse in-game
When you use the Report Abuse feature in a game to report the specific chat or other content that violates Roblox rules, this will send the information directly to our moderators and allow them to see what the other user is doing wrong. The following steps will walk you through reporting another user:
- Click on Menu button, located at the upper left of the screen. This icon looks like three lines stacked on top of each other.
- Click the flag icon located next to a user's name, or click the Report tab at the top of the menu.
- If not already selected, click on the Which Player pull-down menu, and select which user to report.
- Click on the Type of Abuse pull-down menu, to select the inappropriate action.
- Additional details can be written in the Short Description box.
- Click Submit to finalize.
If a game itself is breaking the rules, you can also report this while playing that game. Open the Report tab as described in Step 2 above, then choose Game instead of Player to complete the report form.
Note: If you are playing on an Xbox, you may have fewer overall options when opening the Game Menu, but the Report tab will still appear for reporting abuse as described above.
