What do I need to know about custom experience rules?
Creators can make custom rules that govern their experiences and the actions of users within those experiences. Custom experience rules are created and managed by creators and not by Roblox.
The following are important to keep in mind with custom experience rules:
- Custom experience rules are allowed as long as they don't conflict with the Roblox Terms of Use and Community Standards.
- It is optional for creators to make these rules.
- If creators choose to make custom rules, they must clearly state their experience rules somewhere accessible to all users.
- Custom experience rules violations may not be reported through Roblox’s Report Abuse system.
- Creators make and manage their own systems to handle the breaking of their custom rules.
- Users should appeal to creators directly if they believe their ban was incorrect. Roblox does not handle appeals related to custom experience rule violations.
- Roblox can moderate an experience if we have reason to believe that a creator’s experience rules or enforcement of their rules violate Roblox policies, like Community Standards or Terms of Use.
If developers take action against users based on the custom experience rules, users may lose access to virtual content acquired within that experience. This includes experience subscriptions: if a user is banned from an experience for more than 14 days, their experience subscription will automatically be canceled without a refund.

Please be aware that rules that contradict the Community Standards are not allowed. In such situations, please utilize our Report Abuse and Blocking features.
