If the experience creator has enabled private servers on their experience, you can use Robux to purchase a private server you can enjoy with friends you invite.
How do I create a server?
-
- Navigate to the Servers section located at the bottom of the experience page on the Roblox app or website.
- If the private server feature has been turned on by the experience creator, you will see a section entitled Private Servers. It will display any servers that you have created or are a part of. If you see any, you can go ahead and play right away!
- To create a new one, click the Create Private Server button.
- Give your new server a name. Read the subscription agreement and when you’re ready, finish the purchase by clicking Buy Now.
- Once you've purchased, you will be able to configure the server right away or later.
How do I configure my server?
-
- Navigate to the Servers section located at the bottom of the experience page on the Roblox app or website.
- Click the Menu button (three dots) located to the far right of your private server.
- Click Configure.
- You can rename the server, adjust who can play in it including up to 50 individual users or allow your friends list, and create a link to your server.
You can also enable access restrictions for your server as well as cancel the monthly subscription.
What restrictions exist on who can join a private server?
By default, users under the age of 13 can only join their friends’ private servers, and only their friends can join their private servers. They can also restrict this further in their privacy settings. Users 13 and up can also restrict who can add them to private servers.
Changing these settings will apply to all existing and future private servers created. Adjusting the access restrictions for your private server does not affect the monthly subscription renewal or server price.
How much do private server subscriptions cost?
Private server prices are in Robux and set by the experience creator. There will be an initial charge when you first purchase a private server, followed by a recurring monthly charge on the same date of each month to keep it active. You can view the Renewal Date on the configuration page of your private server.
The monthly renewal fee will be taken out of your Robux balance automatically, so you don't need to worry about forgetting to renew every month.
How do I cancel my server subscription?
If you don't want your server to renew, you may cancel it at any time before its renewal date.
-
- Navigate to the Servers section for the experience. Click the Menu button (three dots) located to the far right of your server.
- Click Cancel.
- Review the cancellation agreement, and click Yes, cancel.
You can also cancel the subscription directly from your server’s configuration page.
-
- From the same Menu button located to the far right of your server, click Configure.
- To cancel your monthly charge, click the green Active icon next to Subscription Status.
- You can also renew your subscription at any time by toggling the Subscription Status.
You will still get to use your server for the remainder of the period that you have already paid for. Refer to the Expiration Date located on your server’s configuration page.
What if I don't have enough Robux on the renewal date?
If there is insufficient Robux available on the renewal date, then the server will expire and can no longer be used, however, you can purchase a new server at any time.
