Use of the Creator Store is subject to the Roblox User and Creator Terms, and these Creator Store Terms. Capitalized terms that are not defined in these Creator Store Terms are defined in the Roblox Dictionary.
-
- Creator Store. Roblox provides the Creator Store as a marketplace by and through which Creators may publish, sell, and obtain assets (including models, decals, audio, videos, meshes, and plugins) for use on the Services. Only Creator assets intended for use in Roblox Studio may be published, sold, or obtained on the Creator Store in accordance with these Creator Store Terms and the Roblox User and Creator Terms. Creators may not use the Creator Store to publish or sell Virtual Items, In-Experience Items, access to Experiences, or other UGC intended for use outside of Roblox Studio.
- Fiat Transaction. To access certain features of the Creator Store, you may be permitted to make payments to or receive payments from other Creators in real fiat currency (each a “Fiat Transaction”). Fiat Transactions are directly between Users and Creator via Stripe, Inc. (hereinafter “Stripe”), Roblox’s third-party payment service provider. Where Roblox is not required to be, Creators are the merchant of record for the sale of assets on the Creator Store to Users. All purchases on the Creator Store are final and, unless otherwise permitted by Roblox through its policies or practices or as required by law, non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Payment Service Provider. Through Stripe, Roblox offers certain payment options that may vary by Service feature, your device and/or operating system, your geographic location, or other factors at Stripe’s discretion.
-
Terms and Privacy Policy. Prior to engaging in a Fiat Transaction on the Creator Store, you agree that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Creator Store Terms and any Additional Terms as outlined by Stripe, available here (for payments) and either here or here (for receipt of payments, as applicable for your geographic location). You also acknowledge and agree that any information you provide in connection with the Fiat Transaction and use of Stripe, including without limitation your chosen method of payment (“Payment Method”) and/or bank account information, shall be subject to Stripe’s Privacy Policy, available here. You further agree to provide a valid Payment Method and make any Fiat Transaction payments using only Payment Methods that you are authorized to use. Acceptable Payment Methods will be dictated by Stripe.
If you are under the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction or state of residence, your parent or legal guardian must read and consent to these Creator Store Terms and must create the associated Stripe account, including consenting to any Additional Terms as outlined by Stripe. If you are the parent or guardian of a minor, you agree that you will be responsible for all Fiat Transactions and uses of the Creator Store by your child whether or not such uses were authorized by you.
- License. By purchasing assets on the Creator Store, User is granted a license to use the asset in Roblox Studio and in Experiences on the Services consistent with the Roblox User and Creator Terms.
- Third-Party Fees. Roblox will retain a portion of the sales price of each asset sold on the Creator Store (“Third-Party Fees”), exclusive of Transaction Taxes, to cover any fees or third-party processing costs incurred by Roblox related to the Fiat Transaction. The Third-Party Fees are intended to cover third-party processing costs incurred by Roblox relating to Fiat Transactions on the Creator Store and are not intended to represent service revenue or any form of income to Roblox.
-
Taxes. The sales price of Asset on the Creator Store is exclusive of Transaction Taxes which may be applicable. “Transaction Taxes” means any sales, use, value-added, excise, gross receipts, ad valorem, goods and services, and other taxes, however designated, and other transaction taxes or fees of any kind imposed with respect to supplies in any country, state or locality. You agree to comply with any and all applicable tax laws, including the reporting and payment of any taxes arising in connection with your use of the Creator Store, and that the reporting and payment of any such applicable taxes are your responsibility.
In jurisdictions where Roblox is acting as a marketplace or platform facilitator for Transaction Taxes purposes, Roblox will collect the applicable Transaction Taxes from the User on behalf of the Creator and remit this to the relevant tax authorities. In the event Roblox is not acting as a marketplace/platform facilitator for Transaction Taxes purposes or is facilitating the sale of assets to a User in a jurisdiction where such rules do not exist, the Creator will remain responsible for the payment of Transaction Taxes to the relevant tax authorities.
-
Earning on the Creator Store.
- Earned Fiat. Roblox may allow certain Creators to earn fiat currency by selling or monetizing certain UGC in a Fiat Transaction on the Creator Store (“Earned Fiat”). For each completed Fiat Transaction it has created, published, and made available for sale on the Creator Store, the Creator will be entitled to receive Earned Fiat equal to the full amount of the Fiat Transaction, less any withholding taxes and Third-Party Fees.
- Withheld Funds. Funds from each Fiat Transaction will be held by Stripe for 30 days before any Earned Fiat will be available to the Creator (“Withheld Amount”). If there is any need to issue a refund to a User, such refund amount will be deducted from the Withheld Amount. After the end of the 30-day period, all remaining Earned Fiat will be released by Stripe to the Creator's Stripe account; however, the Creator will still need to wait until the established monthly payout day before being able to receive those funds.
- Receipt of Funds. Creators who wish to receive payments from Fiat Transactions will need to create a Stripe account (see here). On the established monthly payout day, all Earned Fiat will be released by Stripe to the bank account associated with Creator’s Stripe account.
- Withholding Taxes. To the extent withholding taxes, including but not limited to any duties, customs duties, and any direct or indirect taxes, including any related penalties or interest, are applicable on remittances to Creators of Earned Fiat on the Creator Store, these will be deducted from the Earned Fiat owed to You. Roblox will use commercially practical efforts to issue the respective withholding tax forms, which will be provided to You by Roblox as provided in the applicable tax law.
