Occasionally we will need to verify your identity during the DevEx process for security and legal purposes.
Why am I required to complete the ID verification?
Roblox works hard to promote a safe and fun environment for all of our community. In unison with that, we partnered with Persona to add an additional layer of protection for our Developers. The safety and security of our Developers is a top priority for our team.
Reasons you may be asked to complete the ID verification:
- Information changes and discrepancies
- Recently compromised account (Roblox account and DevEx portal)
I noticed something called Persona in the verification process. What is Persona, and why is Roblox using them?
Roblox has partnered with Persona, a third-party service provider, to verify the identity of account owners who wish to access additional social features and age-appropriate content.
Information uploaded to Persona is retained for a period of 30 days. After this period, the uploaded data is removed from Persona. Roblox does not receive any raw identification information. Please note that a government-issued ID is required to upload for verification.

How do I complete the ID verification?
The DevEx team will provide a hyperlink for you to complete the ID verification. You will be asked to access the link with your smartphone, take a photo of the front and back of your government-issued ID, and take a live selfie (static images are not valid).
What forms of identification will I need to provide?
You will need to provide a valid (non-expired) government issued ID, and you will be asked to take a live selfie.
I completed the ID verification, why do I have to do it again?
You will need to complete the ID verification if we’re unable to validate it for one or more of the following reasons:
- The document provided is illegible
- The document provided is expired
- You did not take a selfie
The verification hyperlink is no longer working or expired, what do I do?
Ask the DevEx team member to generate a new link for you by contacting us on at the Roblox Support Form.
