Error Code 268: You have been kicked due to unexpected client behavior

Why does this happen?

Error code 268 generally occurs when there are issues with the network connection between the client application and servers on PCs, Macs, and mobile devices. This error can also occur if there is a conflict with other applications, like antivirus software, that override permissions related to Roblox.

Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10

1. Try uninstalling & reinstall the Roblox application (This helps clear any corrupted files and data that may affect the functionality of the Roblox application, installing a new copy of the application updates it to the latest version)
   1. Select Start and open Settings
   2. Look for the Apps icon and select it, followed by Apps & features
   3. Select the Roblox application and then select Uninstall,  then follow the directions on the screen
2. Clear App-Data (This gets the access cache build-up cleared from your system, i.e., clearing the app's data restores the app to its default settings and clears all stored app data)
   1. Uninstall Roblox and open command prompt (by pressing Win+R > Type ""CMD"" > Press Enter
   2. Type in the following commands: cd AppData\Local (then press enter) >> rmdir /s Roblox (then press enter) >> Enter ""y"" when asked to answer (then press enter)
   3. Restart your computer & Reinstall Roblox
3. Network-related (This helps with connection related errors and issues of high ping/lag)
   1. Try connecting your system to a different source of internet connection and see if the issue persists
   2. If it persists, it is recommended to connect with your internet connection provider for further troubleshooting

Windows 11 (64-bit architecture)

1. Try uninstalling & reinstall the Roblox application (This helps clear any corrupted files and data that may affect the functionality of the Roblox application, installing a new copy of the application updates it to the latest version)
   1. In the search text field on the taskbar, enter the Control Panel and select it from the results
   2. Select Programs and open it, followed by Programs and Features
   3. Press and hold (or right-click) on the Roblox application to remove and select Uninstall or Uninstall/Change, then follow the directions on the screen

1. Try uninstalling & reinstall the Roblox application (This helps clearing any corrupted files and data that may affect the functionality of the Roblox application, installing a new copy of the application updates it to the latest version)
   1. Either you can drag the Roblox app to the Trash, or
   2. Select the Roblox app > Move to Trash from the menu bar (If the app is available there), or
   3. Select the Roblox app and press Command-Delete on your keyboard to delete it
2. Check if your MacOS has given access to the application (Application must seek permission from the system to run)
   1. Select the Apple icon to open Preferences
   2. Open Privacy & Security settings, then turning on permission for the Roblox app
3. Network-related (Helps with connection related errors and issues of high ping/lag)
   1. Try connecting your system to a different source of internet connection and see if the issue persists
   2. If it persists, it is recommended to connect with your internet connection provider for further troubleshooting

iOS (iOS 12 and above)

1. Rebooting Device (Clears the memory usage and freshen ups the device)
   1. Press and hold the volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears
   2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off
   3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right-hand side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo
2. Force Close Roblox App (Puts an end to various issues at runtime, sometimes this is all an application needs to refresh anything that might be giving it difficulty)
   1. To do this, press the Home key twice or simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen. This will display a group of apps on your screen.
   2. Swipe the Roblox app upwards to force-close the app
3. Reinstall Roblox application (Installing fresh copy of the application with the latest updates)
   1. While on your home-screen, press and hold down the Roblox app icon until all the apps on your screen begin to shake.
   2. Press the X over the Roblox app or simply select and hold the Roblox app and choose the delete option.
   3. If you are asked to confirm your selection, press Delete.
      Open the App Store and search for the Roblox app in order to reinstall it
4. Check and correct date and time (Helps keep the system in sync with the servers)
   1. Open your Settings app
   2. Find your time and date settings. The location will vary from device to device and operating system
   3. Make sure the date and time are accurate. If they are not, update them and try Roblox again

Android (Android OS 6 and above)

1. Rebooting Device (Clears the use of memory usages and freshen ups the device)
   1. Power down your device by holding down the power button and press Power Off
   2. Once your device has been powered down for 30 seconds, press the power button to turn it back on again
2. Force Close Roblox App (Puts an end to various issues at runtime, sometimes this is all an application needs to refresh anything that might be giving it difficulty)
   1. From the Home screen, select the Recent key (left/right soft-key) to open the Recent Applications page
   2. Swipe sideways to close the app or select Close all
3. Reinstall Roblox application (Installing fresh copy of the application with the latest updates)
   1. Select the Settings icon
   2. Scroll down and select Application manager
   3. Find and select the Roblox Mobile App
   4. Select Uninstall
   5. Once the uninstall is complete, reinstall the app from the Google Play Store

   1. Open your Settings app
   2. Find your time and date settings. The location will vary from device to device and operating system

1. Force Close Roblox App (Puts an end to various issues at runtime, sometimes this is all an application needs to refresh anything that might be giving it difficulty)
   1. Swipe your finger from the top of the screen and select Settings
   2. Next, select Apps & Games and then Manage All Applications
   3. Finally, select Roblox from the list and select Force Stop
2. Rebooting Device (Clears the use of memory usages and freshen ups the device]
   1. Power down your device by holding down the power button and select OK
   2. Once your device has been powered down for 30 seconds, press the power button to turn it back on again
3. Reinstall Roblox application (Installing fresh copy of the application with the latest updates)
   1. Swipe your finger from the top of the screen and select Settings
   2. Select Apps & Games and then Manage All Applications
   3. Select Uninstall
   4. Once the uninstall is complete, reinstall the app from the Amazon Store

   2. Find your time and date settings. The location will vary from device to device and operating system
   3. Make sure the date and time are accurate. If they are not, update them and try Roblox again

ChromeOS (Chrome OS version 53 and above)

1. Update the chrome OS (Helps run the application with maximum optimization)

2. Force Close Roblox App (Puts an end to various issues at runtime, sometimes this is all an application needs to refresh anything that might be giving it difficulty)
   1. Select the menu button, which looks like three lines in your Chromebook's Chrome browser on the top right
   2. Select on More Tools in the pop-up menu
   3. Select Task Manager
   4. Select the process or program that you wish to force quit and select End Process on the bottom-right of the screen

   1. Select your account photo and then Sign out and then Turn off
   2. Once your device has been powered down for 30 seconds, press the power button to turn it back on again
4. Reinstall Roblox application (Installing fresh copy of the application with the latest updates)
   Select the Launcher icon, select All Apps, and locate the app you want to remove
   Right-click the app icon and select Remove from Chrome
   In the confirmation window, select Remove
   Reinstall from Google Play store
5. Check and correct date and time (Helps keep the system in sync with the servers)
   1. Open your Settings app
   2. Find your time and date settings. The location will vary from device to device so a Google search may be required to find it for your specific one
   3. Make sure the date and time are accurate. If they are not, update them and try Roblox again
