What is Voice Chat?
Voice chat is a feature that allows people to communicate on Roblox as naturally as they communicate in the physical world.
Developers have the choice to integrate voice chat in their experiences, and therefore it may not be supported when playing certain experiences.
Eligible 13+ users who are phone number verified can opt-in to use this feature by visiting their Account Settings page. They will then be able to use voice chat in any Roblox experience that supports it.
Voice chat is currently available to all 13+ phone number verified users in these countries: United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Mexico, Chile, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Uruguay, El Salvador, Honduras, Paraguay, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Panama, Portugal, and Brazil . Users not in these countries should use ID verification to enable voice chat.
How can I mute my microphone in an experience?
You can mute and unmute your microphone in experiences by tapping on the microphone icon located in the upper left side of the screen.
When muted, the microphone icon will include a red slash to indicate your device microphone is currently muted.
Tap the icon to unmute and the icon will turn green, indicating that your microphone is no longer muted.
How can I tell who has Voice Chat?
13+ users with voice chat enabled will see a speaker icon next to the user name and above the avatar of other users that have voice chat enabled. |
How do I Mute, Block, or Report Abuse on Users in Voice Chat?
Muting another user’s voice chat
You can mute another user in a voice chat experience by clicking the speaker icon that will appear over their avatar’s head or next to their name in the Roblox menu. Muting only applies to voice chat and not text chat. It will only last while you are in the experience session. To unmute a user, access the Roblox menu and click the speaker icon next to their username. |
Blocking another user
You can block another user in a voice chat experience to prevent them from engaging with you in voice chat or text chat. Please see our help article here: How to Block Another User. |
Report Abuse
If someone is violating the Terms of Use or Community Standards, use the Report Abuse feature to file a report with our moderation team. You can now specify “Voice Chat” when using the Report Abuse feature. See our help article here: How to Report Rule Violations.
