It is your responsibility to ensure that your advertising content on Roblox adheres to the Roblox Terms of Use, all applicable Roblox terms and policies including the Roblox Community Standards, these Advertising Standards, and all applicable laws and regulations. This includes ensuring advertising content is age-appropriate based on the intended audience, among other requirements. Different jurisdictions of users who may see your ad may have different requirements for advertising that may require you to do more than what is expressly stated in these Advertising Standards. Ads may not be personalized for users under the age of 18. You are responsible for understanding and following all applicable laws. Violations may result in actions against your account, including but not limited to account suspension or ad campaign suspension.
Advertiser Integrity
Those who are acquiring advertising space on Roblox (“Advertisers”) are expected to act with integrity, including but not limited to, adhering to the following requirements:
Ad Transparency
- Advertising content outside of Roblox-served ad units must be accompanied by simple and clear disclosures for users to understand they are engaging with advertising.
- Advertising content design must not interfere with any required disclosures in a way that obscures the disclosure or makes users believe they are engaging with non-advertising content.
- Advertisements must not make deceptive or unrealistic claims about the products or services they represent, including offering free Robux to entice engagement.
- Advertising content must not mimic system functionality or confuse the user with iconography that replicates buttons, notifications, or options that are non-functional.
- For Roblox Immersive Portal Ads, the advertising content must not mislead users about the destination of the Portal.
Age-Appropriate Advertising Content
- When the intended audience for advertising content includes users below the age of 18, advertising content must not:
- Portray children or adults in unsafe situations or using the product in a hazardous way.
- When an activity would normally require safety equipment (like helmets for a skateboard), it must be depicted in the ad.
- Imply that the product can confer enhanced performance or special skills, proficiency, status, or popularity upon the user.
- Directly urge children to buy a product, or to ask their parents or other adults to buy it for them.
- Use qualifiers like "only" or "just" to describe a price.
Advertiser Platform
- Advertisers may not attempt to upload malware to the Roblox Ad Manager.
- Advertisers may not provide false identification or payment information to Roblox.
- Advertisers may not make fraudulent refund requests, decline charges, or dispute payments for services properly rendered.
- Roblox prohibits attempts to bypass these systems, gain unauthorized access to Ads Manager or to others’ advertising accounts or information, or to otherwise violate our platform security requirements.
Intellectual Property
- Advertisements may not violate the intellectual property of others. Roblox will remove infringing content upon receiving a valid Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notice or Trademark infringement removal request.
Directing Users Off-Platform
- Ads may not contain or depict unapproved URLs, partial links, QR codes, or in any other way direct a user off of the Roblox platform to unapproved sites or applications.
- Ads may not encourage ineligible users to share links to unapproved sites.
- Ads must not direct users to landing pages that are misleading or primarily feature general-purpose search engines or AI chatbots.
- Ads may not direct users to any social links except YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Discord, and X (formerly Twitter).
Sharing Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
- Advertisers may use ad content to share methods of contacting or discovering their business entities, products or services, or professional content.
- However, to maintain privacy and safety, users may be prohibited from sharing their own or requesting others’ PII on Roblox, depending on their age.
- This PII includes but is not limited to:
- Email address
- Passwords or access tokens
- Home address or physical location
- Full legal name
- Financial information including credit cards and bank account details
- Medical information
- Telephone number
- Biometric data
- Internet Identifiers such as usernames and handles not linked to Roblox
- Sensitive credentials such as Social Security Number
- Unauthorized personal identifiable information relating to minors including images, voice and video recordings.
- Due to system requirements, Roblox only allows depiction of real faces of private individuals in Video Ad campaigns.
- This PII includes but is not limited to:
- If Roblox is made aware that advertiser accounts are collecting, soliciting or distributing unauthorized or unlawful PII in violation of these standards, those accounts and associated campaigns will be suspended.
Language Support
- At this time, Roblox Ad Manager supports advertising content in the following languages:
- English
- Roblox Ads Manager may reject ad content containing non-supported languages.
- Additional languages not listed above may be supported through Roblox-managed pilot programs with direct partners. Pilots may include our platform-wide languages:
- Arabic
- Chinese
- English
- French
- German
- Indonesian
- Italian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Portuguese
- Spanish
- Thai
- Turkish
- Vietnamese
Violations of our Community Standards or Advertiser Integrity requirements may result in removal of advertising content, ad campaign suspension, ad account suspension or Roblox account suspension. Roblox may also prevent violators or suspected affiliate accounts from creating new ad campaigns or ad accounts.
Publisher Integrity
Roblox respects advertisers as part of the community, and therefore has additional requirements in order to protect advertiser content. Developers who are inserting advertising units in their Roblox experiences (“Publishers”) are expected to act with integrity, including but not limited to, adhering to the following requirements:
Publisher Eligibility
- Publishers and their experiences must meet the eligibility requirements listed under the Immersive Ads page of Creator Hub, and eligibility must be maintained on an ongoing basis for program participation.
- Accounts are prohibited from attempting to falsify their eligibility or circumvent our requirements to fraudulently participate or receive ad-related payouts.
Advertising Integrations
- Developers seeking to run Ad Integrations in their experiences must make available all assets associated with their Ad Integration campaign to Roblox for review and approval prior to audience exposure.
- Developers must work with Roblox to appropriately gate Ads Integrations from users who are ineligible for exposure to comply with the Advertising Standards.
- Developers must clearly, sufficiently, and prominently disclose to users when content is an advertisement using simple and understandable language. When available, Developers must use Roblox-native advertising disclosures for their Ads Integrations.
- Ad Integrations must not falsely represent the content being advertised to encourage user engagement (e.g., offer free Robux).
- Developers must not implement reward mechanisms to incentivize users under the age of 13 to engage with any type of advertising content.
- Developers must use Roblox’s Rewarded Video advertising product to offer rewarded video advertising to 13+ users only.
- Developers must use Roblox’s Portal advertising product to offer portal advertising as part of the Ad Integration.
Ad Fraud
- Publishers may not leverage bots, automated user activity, large scale ad engagement campaigns, or other methods to draw undue ad revenue.
- Publishers may not misclassify experience metadata (e.g., genre, experience guideline rating, etc.) in order to deceptively increase ad delivery to users of the experience.
- Publishers must provide clear and accurate disclosures prior to each trigger of a Rewarded Video including (a) what the reward is and (b) what the user is required to do to earn it. These disclosures must be unambiguous to the user.
- Rewards to the user must not be random items or use chance-based mechanics. The item that the user receives from completing a Rewarded Video must be pre-determined.
- Publishers must implement a clear user opt-in action to confirm (e.g. user-initiated click) before a Rewarded Video Ad is played for the user.
- Publishers may not force users to initiate the video ad as a progress gate in the experience, including by taking over user screen visibility or avatar motion.
- Publishers must issue the reward to the user immediately after the rewarded video ad has completed.
- Publishers may not promote or implement fraudulent rewards (including free Robux or money) to deceptively incentivize video completion, including using reward descriptions that are inaccurate or mechanisms that do not fulfill the promised reward to the user.
- Publishers may not implement any kind of reward mechanism to incentivize users to interact and/or engage with Portal Ads.
Ad System Abuse
- Publishers may not include advertising content as their fallback content when Roblox does not deliver an advertisement to an Immersive Ad unit.
- Publishers may not misuse Roblox tools such as PolicyService API to deliver advertising content to users who are not allowed to see it, including users under the age of 13.
- Publishers may not use content in their experience to obscure required disclosures in a way that makes users believe they are engaging with non-advertising content.
- Publishers may not reuse or repurpose Roblox-served Ad content without express authorization from the advertiser.
Community Safety & Civility
- Publishers engaged in harassment or abuse of members of the Roblox community, whether on- or off-platform, may have their eligibility to earn ad revenue revoked.
Violations of our Community Standards or Publisher Integrity requirements may result in revoked payouts, suspension of payouts, or removal of publisher eligibility, in addition to content removal and account suspension.
Prohibited Advertising Content
Roblox requires compliance with the following advertising content requirements to create a safe and civil environment for our users:
Child Endangerment
- Roblox has a zero-tolerance policy for endangering children.
- Ads may not contain content that depicts or promotes:
- Any predatory behavior, including attempting to befriend a child in order to manipulate and exploit them (i.e., grooming);
- Sexualizing children in any way;
- Engaging in sexual conversation with or soliciting sexual material from minors; or
- Sharing, requesting, or discussing child sexual exploitation imagery.
Threats, Bullying or Harassment
- Ads may not threaten others with real world harm or to encourage such threats, or to incite violence against people or property, including:
- Physical assault or violence;
- Sexual assault; or
- Property damage.
- Roblox may communicate with law enforcement agencies regarding credible threats of harm.
- Ads may not reference bullying, stalking, trolling, harassment, or intimidation on its platform.
- Ads may not depict, glorify, or promote such behavior. This includes:
- Singling out a user or group for ridicule or abuse; or
- Sexual harassment.
Suicide, Self-Injury, or Harmful Behavior
- Ad content may not depict, glorify, or encourage suicide or self-injury.
- Ad content may not describe methods of suicide or self-injury.
Romantic or Sexual Content
- Ads may not contain nudity, or reference sexually explicit or suggestive content.
- Ads may not reference or promote reproductive, contraceptive, or fertility products or services.
- Ads may not promote online dating services, romance coaching, or relationship counseling
Violent Content or Gore
- Ads may not depict extreme violence or serious physical or psychological abuse, including:
- Animal abuse or torture;
- Realistic depictions of extreme gore; or
- Support or glorification of war crimes or human rights violations, including torture, modern slavery, or human trafficking.
Terrorism or Extremist Organizations
- Ads may not contain content that supports, glorifies, or promotes any terrorist or extremist organization and their actions, including:
- Depictions of or support for terrorist or extremist attacks or terrorist actors;
- Depictions of or support for the leaders of terrorist organizations;
- Depictions of the slogans, images, flags, or icons of terrorist organizations;
- Recruiting membership for a terrorist or violent organization, or encouraging others to leave Roblox to find such information; or
- Fundraising for terrorist or extremist organizations, people, or groups.
Illegal & Regulated Goods
- Illicit drugs or intoxication
- Ads may not promote or solicit the sale of illegal drugs or controlled substances.
- Ads may not depict intoxication, drug abuse or encourage users to abuse substances.
- Ads may not contain depictions of drug paraphernalia including pills, syringes, or smoking pipes.
- Health, Diet, and Medical
- Self-serve or independent advertising integrations may not promote, depict or discourage the following:
- Pharmaceutical products, including prescription drugs and over-the-counter drugs, and their consumption
- Medical devices or their use
- Medical procedures (including reproductive healthcare or clinical trials) or participation in them
- Other procedures that claim to treat, cure, heal, or prevent medical conditions.
- Ads may not promote or depict the following:
- Weight loss or weight management products and supplements
- Steroids
- Eating disorders
- Ads may not encourage people to change their real physical weight, including by using Before-and-After comparison images.
- Self-serve or independent advertising integrations may not promote, depict or discourage the following:
- Food and Beverages
- Ads may not promote foods that are considered high in fat, salt, and sugars to ineligible users in regions that restrict the advertising of such foods.
- Ads may not promote or solicit infant food products including milk substitutes and infant feeding implements.
- Body Alteration
- Ads may not promote or depict either invasive or medical-grade cosmetic procedures.
- Ads may not promote body piercing services, permanent tattoos or permanent makeup, ultraviolet devices for skin tanning, skin bleaching devices or procedures.
- We do allow ads for hygiene products including, dental care, soap, hair care, and deodorant.
- We do allow ads for cosmetics such as skin care and non-permanent makeup.
- We prohibit any negative messaging about body types or physical attributes or comparing them in ad content, including using before-and-after comparison images.
- Tobacco
- Ads may not promote, depict the use of, or solicit the sale of tobacco products or paraphernalia, including e-cigarettes, e-liquid, vapes, hookas, or other smokable products.
- Ads may depict tobacco products, vapes, e-cigarettes, or other smokable products and related paraphernalia only in the context of smoking/vaping cessation ads campaigns in direct partnership with Roblox.
- Ads may not promote, depict the use of, or solicit the sale of tobacco products or paraphernalia, including e-cigarettes, e-liquid, vapes, hookas, or other smokable products.
- Alcohol or related products
- Ads may not depict or promote or solicit the sale of alcohol products, paraphernalia, or consumption.
- Cannabis
- Ads may not depict, promote, or solicit the sale of cannabis or its byproducts, including but not limited to marijuana, THC, or CBD products.
- Ads may not promote or depict cannabis paraphernalia.
- Weapons
- Ads may not promote or solicit the sale of weapons such as knives, daggers, spears or swords in the real world.
- We do allow ads for knives as kitchen utensils.
- Ads may not promote or solicit the sale of guns, firearms, or paraphernalia in the real world.
- Ads may not promote or solicit the sale of bombs, fireworks, or explosives in the real world.
- Ads may not promote or solicit weapon-making instructions or schematics in the real world.
- Ads may not promote or solicit training programs for the use of weapons in the real world.
- Ads may not promote or solicit the sale of weapons such as knives, daggers, spears or swords in the real world.
- Gambling
- Ads may not promote casinos, gambling in the real world, or online gambling with real world currencies.
- Ads may not promote sports betting, sports books, or fantasy sports services.
- Ads may not promote participation in lotteries.
- Counterfeits & Piracy
- Ads may not promote or solicit the sale of counterfeit products or counterfeiting tools.
- Ads may not promote or solicit the sale of digital media piracy or media pirating services.
- Criminal Activity
- Ads may not promote products in the context of criminal activity, including cybercrimes.
- Examples include but are not limited to spray paint or glass etching for vandalism, spying tools for stalking, lock picks for trespassing.
- Ads may not depict or promote figures associated with criminal activity.
- Ads may not promote products in the context of criminal activity, including cybercrimes.
Real World Physically Dangerous Activities
- Ads may not depict or promote participation in activities in the real world that are specifically designed to create an extreme risk of physical harm to the participant offline. This includes but is not limited to:
- Physical challenge or stunt trends; or
- Dangerous misuse of fireworks
Martial Arts
- Ads may not promote martial arts training or events in the real world.
- Ads may not promote fighting sports training or events in the real world.
Discrimination, Slurs, or Hate Speech
- Ads may not demean, threaten, or attack individuals or groups, or encourage others to do so directly or indirectly, on the basis of their:
- Race, perceived race, or ethnicity;
- National origin;
- Sexual orientation;
- Gender, gender identity, or gender expression;
- Religion or religious affiliation or beliefs;
- Age;
- Physical or mental disability;
- Veteran status; or
- Familial status
- Ads may not discriminate against others based on their membership in the above groups. Examples of such content include:
- Experiences that imitate or suggest real world acts of discrimination;
- Avatar clothing associated with hate groups;
- Symbols and flags associated with discrimination; or
- Derogatory memes
Profanity
- Ads may not include profanity or crude language, including through misspellings, quotes or audio, special characters, foreign languages, or other means of evading profanity detection.
Real World Sensitive Events
- Ads may not depict specific real-world tragic events; mock the victims of such events; or support, glorify, or promote the perpetrators.
- Ads may not offer products or services related to specific real-world tragic events in order to capitalize on these events for commercial purposes.
- Real world tragic events include:
- Mass shootings and domestic terrorism;
- Specific, real world, natural disaster events; or
- Human or civil rights violations
Extortion and Blackmail
- Ads may not be used to extort or blackmail individual users or target groups.
- Ads may not promote or solicit the sale of tools or techniques to extort or blackmail.
Malicious Software
- Ads may not promote spyware, malware or software that can be used to damage or gain access to another user’s devices or information.
Politics
- Ads may not depict or promote political content, including political figures, parties, ideologies, ballot propositions, candidacies, or voter registration instructions.
- Ads may not be used to advocate for or against a public policy or government administration.
- Ads may not promote or recruit for employment in government agencies or enlistment in military entities, except for ads campaigns for 18+ users in direct partnership with Roblox.
Religion
- Ads may not depict or promote religious content, including icons, holy texts, beliefs, practices, services, or organizations.
- Ads with content demeaning a targeted religious group or belief will be considered Discrimination.
Paranormal, astrological, or occult
- Ads may not depict or promotive services in the real world associated with paranormal activity, astrological sign readings, exorcisms, or the occult.
- Ads may not depict or promote services or products in the real world for fortune telling, interfacing with the deceased, clairvoyance, or mind reading.
Funeral Services
- Ads may not promote funeral services or funeral-related products including caskets or burial tools.
Multi-level marketing
- Ads may not promote participation in a multi-level marketing campaign or recruitment to an organization.
- Ads may not solicit users to become influencers in marketing campaigns.
- Ads may not promote the purchase of products affiliated with multi-level marketing campaigns.
Financial Services
- Self-serve or independent advertising integrations may not promote or raise awareness about any financial products or services, including but not limited to:
- Savings or checking bank accounts, including 529 accounts and certificates of deposit;
- Pre-paid or account-linked debit cards;
- Credit cards and pre-paid gift cards;
- Digital wallets and payment processing services, including peer-to-peer payment providers;
- All short-term or long-term loans, student loans, mortgages, high-APR loans, payday loans, cash advance loans, title loans, pawn shop loans, etc.;
- Insurance services, insurance brokers or private insurance marketplaces;
- Sovereign/government bonds;
- Tax preparation or tax filing services, tax advisory or planning services;
- Index funds;
- Retirement accounts like 401(k) or IRA;
- Precious metals like gold, platinum, or silver;
- Investment advisory services (including brokerage services), accounting, financial planning, or budget management services;
- Buy Now Pay Later services;
- Credit monitoring or repair services, debt consolidation and management, debt refinance;

- Derivatives, such as binary options, puts or calls, etc.;

Cryptocurrencies & NFTs
- Ads may not promote specific cryptocurrencies or specific blockchain-based assets.
- Ads may not promote non-fungible tokens (NFTs), NFT publishing or NFT trading platforms.
- Ads may not promote digital wallets for cryptocurrencies or blockchain-based assets.
- Ads may not promote cryptocurrency or blockchain asset exchanges or portfolio management services.
Animals & Insects
- Ads may not promote or solicit the sale or adoption of animals, or the sale of animal body parts or byproducts.
- We do allow promotion of products for animals such as processed pet food, pet accessories, and pet care services.
- Ads may not promote or solicit the sale of insects, or their body parts or byproducts.
- Ads may not promote or solicit pest control or insecticide products or services.
Charitable causes
- Ads may not promote or solicit donations for an external charitable cause
- Ads may not claim that a transaction on Roblox is associated with an off-platform fundraiser
Entertainment, Music, and Gaming
- Advertising promoting any kind of entertainment, music, gaming, or other content on Roblox must comply with our Community Standards. Self-serve and independent advertising integrations may not promote, depict, or mention any of the following:
- R-rated movies, TV-MA shows, and their equivalents;
- Music with warnings of explicit lyrics;
- Video games rated Mature or equivalent;
- Other media with a warning of explicit content.
Investigative or Legal Services
- Ads may not promote or solicit services including public records lookups, personal investigative services, or private eyes; or
- Ads may not promote or solicit legal services.
Regulated Advertising Content
In order to ensure safety and compliance for audience groups in specific markets, Roblox may directly manage the campaigns of regulated advertiser partners with budgets over $25,000 USD in the following categories. All other advertising campaigns, including independent advertising integrations, must continue to adhere to the Prohibited Advertising Content categories above, even if the campaign is legally allowed in the target market.
Financial Services
- Roblox-managed advertisers who want to promote financial products and services are required to meet the following verification and transparency requirements:
- Advertisers are required to demonstrate that they have the necessary approvals and authorizations to run ads for financial services and products in the respective geographies. Roblox may ask for this documentation at any time and advertisers must provide such information upon request in accordance with our terms of use.
- Advertisers must disclosure to users all necessary information as required by law for promoting their promote financial product or service, including but not limited to interest rates, applicable fees, risks, repayment duration, etc. Such disclosures must be clearly visible to the user and must not require users to be directed off-platform.
- Advertisers of credit services must clearly disclose the rates of interest, any applicable fees, and the time period for repayment of credit.
- For 13+ audiences, Roblox-managed Ads may depict, promote, or raise awareness about the following financial products or services only:
- Savings or checking bank accounts, including 529 accounts and certificates of deposit;
- Account-linked debit cards, pre-paid debit cards sold without any preloaded amounts;
- Pre-paid gift cards for non-financial end products;
- Digital wallets and payment processing services, including peer-to-peer payment providers;
- Brand-awareness ads for banks, first-party insurance services, or payments networks that do not promote any specific financial product or service.
- For 18+ audiences, Roblox-managed Ads may depict, promote, or raise awareness about the following financial products or services only:
- Long-terms loans, student loans, mortgages;
- Insurance services;
- Sovereign/government bonds;
- Tax preparation or tax filing services;
- Credit cards;
- Index funds;
- Retirement accounts like 401(k) or IRA;
- Precious metals like gold, platinum or silver as investment instruments only;
- Self-directed brokerage services that do not promote any specific security, mortgage, or real-estate listing;
- Accounting, financial planning, or budget management.
Entertainment, Music, and Gaming
- For 18+ audiences only, Roblox-managed ads may advertise the following content with appropriate disclosures and in compliance with Roblox's Community Standards:
- Movies and other video content classified as R, TV-MA, or equivalent;
- Video games rated Mature or equivalent;
- Music with warnings of explicit lyrics;
- Print or audio books with adult themes or mature content;

- Non-prescription topical anti-acne and anti-eczema products
- Non-prescription topical antibiotic products
- Non-prescription medicated topical haircare products
- Non-prescription medicated topical anti-scarring, anti-aging products
- Non-clinical medical devices meant for vision correction, hearing health, or mobility, such as contact lenses, walkers, hearing aids, etc.
- Non-invasive and non-clinical medical devices meant for health monitoring and management, such as fitness tracker, sleep tracker, etc.
- Non-clinical, non-invasive, and non-ingestible first aid products such as bandages, sterile gauges, etc.
- We prohibit any negative messaging about body types or physical attributes or comparing them in ad content, including using before-and-after comparison images.
Restricted Advertising Categories for U13 Users
In order to ensure safety and compliance, we prohibit certain categories of advertising detailed below when the intended audience includes users below the age of 13. All advertising content must continue to comply with restrictions specified in Roblox’s Community Standards and Advertising Standards.
Toys, Hobby, and Learning
- Ads may not promote toys, hobby, or other learning products that are inappropriate for children aged 13 or below.
- Ads may not promote toys or games that are directly based on products intended for 18+ audiences.
Entertainment, Music, and Gaming
- For users aged 9 - 12, ads may not depict or promote:
- Movies and other video content that is rated R, TV-MA, or equivalent
- Video games that are rated M, PEGI 18, or equivalent
- Music with warnings of explicit lyrics
- Audio or print books with adult themes or mature content
- For users aged 5 - 8, in addition to the restrictions above, ads may not depict or promote:
- Movies and other video content that is rated PG-13, TV-14, or equivalent
- Video games that are rated Teen, PEGI-12, or equivalent
Personal Care
- Ads may not promote personal care, cosmetic, fitness, weight-loss, diet, or nutritional products.
- We do allow some categories of non-medicated hygiene products only.
Food and Beverages
- Ads may not promote any type of food or beverage.
Sporting
- Ads may not depict or promote sports (and associated sporting equipment, services, or classes) that involve an inherently high degree of risk and are considered unsuitable for participation by children, including but not limited to base jumping, hang gliding, wingsuit flying
Clothing
- Ads may not depict or promote real-world undergarments or swimwear.
- Ads may not depict or promote body-shaping clothing or compression wear.
- We do allow the depiction of swimwear or compression wear in the context of promoting travel and sporting events or classes.
Travel and Events
- Ads may not promote travel or tourism that is primarily intended for adults, such as adults-only resorts or cruises.
- Ads may not promote extreme or high-risk adventure travel, such as mountain climbing expeditions.
- Ads may not promote events organized in spaces that primarily facilitate or encourage alcohol, tobacco, or drug consumption.
Online Services
- Ads may not promote the following online services:
- Social media and messaging

Violations of our Community Standards or Advertiser Integrity requirements may result in removal of advertising content, ad campaign suspension, ad account suspension or Roblox account suspension. Roblox may also prevent violators or suspected affiliate accounts from creating new ad campaigns or ad accounts.
