Roblox’s content maturity labels were created so all users can make informed decisions about the content they interact with. To develop these labels, we examined global industry standards and consulted child development experts to guide our policymaking.
For younger users, content maturity labels also work together with Roblox Kids and Roblox Select. These account types help determine what kinds of experiences are available by default based on age, while parents can still use Parental Controls to manage content settings for their family.
When viewing an experience, you can see its content maturity label as well as descriptors about what kind of content exists within an experience.
Content descriptors are determined by the experience creator and descriptors may vary between experiences.

Strong language policies will apply to both in-experience content and how users communicate within text and voice chat. Users must still comply with Roblox’s Restricted Content Policy and Community Standards. Roblox won’t allow language that is used to harass, discriminate, incite violence, or threaten others, or used in a sexual context.
How do these labels work with Roblox Kids and Roblox Select?
Roblox Kids and Roblox Select use age-based defaults to determine what games are available to younger users. Parents with linked accounts can still manage content restrictions, and may also be able to allow or block specific games for their child. Access to some content, features, and games may also depend on region and account settings.
Restricted games are not accessible in certain regions. Games with AI interaction may contain chatbots. Chatbots may not be suitable for some minors, and chatbot games with extended AI interaction are only available to age-verified adult (18+) users.
Parents should also note that some games may not be available by default for children using Roblox Kids or Roblox Select, even when other parental settings are changed.
