Additional Terms
Referral links provide an opportunity for Creators to offer, and for Users to participate in, referral programs made available by Creators for their specified Experience(s).
1. Users Making a Referral. Roblox Users with an Account (“referrer”) may be eligible to receive an in-experience reward (“referral reward” or “In-Experience Friend Reward”) when they share a personalized referral link with a new or existing Roblox user, the referred user (“referee”), who joins the referred Experience. A referral reward is a reward offered by certain Creators that can only be used in the specified Experience. Additional details on qualifying for the referral reward may be detailed on the Experience’s description page, in the Creator’s communications, or in any related terms and conditions associated with the referral reward.
2. Limitations on In-Experience Friend Rewards and In-Experience Friend Rewards Programs. Not all Experiences will offer referral rewards. Referral rewards are non-refundable, non-transferable (unless a Creator otherwise states in writing to a User) , have no real world equivalent value, and may not be redeemed for cash or other credit. We reserve the right to disqualify any Creators from offering, or Users from participating in, referral programs at any time at our sole discretion, including without limitation if a User/Creator does not comply with any of these terms or otherwise fails to comply with any applicable laws (including, without limitation, through any failure to include any disclosures as required by the FTC or otherwise required by Roblox).
3. Prohibited Conduct. We reserve the right to review, investigate, cancel, and remove any referral reward as well as suspend Users or Accounts in instances we identify behavior we believe to be abusive or fraudulent, such as: (a) attempts to gain a referral reward through self-referral by opening multiple accounts; (b) attempts to gain a referral reward by referring users through paid advertising, sponsored links, posting to commercial sites, or spamming; (c) attempts to gain a referral reward by impersonating Roblox, another person, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity; or (d) a violation of the Roblox Terms. The referee and the referrer cannot be the same person, as determined in Roblox’s sole discretion.
4. Users Participating in In-Experience Friend Rewards Programs. As a referrer, you represent that you have prior consent from any referee to send them any texts, email, or other messaging relating to an in-experience referral. Referrers agree to comply with all applicable law, including, but not limited to the CAN-SPAM Act and TCPA. Any distribution of your referral link that could constitute unsolicited commercial messaging or "spam" under any applicable law or regulation is expressly prohibited and will be grounds for immediate termination of your Account
5. Creators Offering In-Experience Friend Rewards. Creators may choose to offer referral rewards to eligible referrers who share a personalized link to referees to join the Creator’s specified Experience. Creators may only have one published and active reward program for each experience at a time. Purchasable items as rewards are prohibited. As a Creator, you are solely responsible for administering your referral programs in compliance with all applicable law and these terms and supplying referral rewards in accordance with any terms and conditions you disclose in writing to Users.
6. In-Experience Friend Referral Programs are Subject to Change. Creators and/or Roblox reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to modify, suspend, disable access to, or discontinue any referral program, in whole or in part, at any time.
7. Liability. Roblox shall not be liable for, and Users/Creators agree to indemnify Roblox for, any claims arising from participating in, administering, or accessing or downloading information in connection with any referral program, including: (a) any failure for Creators to supply any referral reward or any part thereof; (b) late, lost, delayed, stolen, misdirected, incomplete, inaccurate, unreliable, or unintelligible or garbled links, or for errors whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise including in connection with referral attempts, communications, or administration of referral programs; (c) disputes between referrers and referees; (d) and any other injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from participation in or administration of referral programs. Disputes between Users and Creators shall be handled according to the Roblox Terms.
