Roblox Content Maturity provides information on the experience's main details page about what kind of content the experience contains so that players can make informed decisions about what they interact with. Learn more in the Parental Controls FAQ help article.
What happens when certain experiences are restricted based on their content maturity?
Using Parental Controls, parents can set the content maturity level for the child’s account, allowing the child to only join experiences that match or are below the level set. Experiences above the selected content maturity level may still be displayed in search results or advertised in ads, however, the experiences will not be playable. Users will receive a message stating the experience is unavailable due to the Content Maturity restriction.
How are Content Maturity labels determined?
Roblox’s recommendations are grounded in child development research and informed by industry standards.
How do I configure my child’s content maturity settings?
You will need a Roblox account with parent privileges linked to the child’s account before you can configure the content maturity settings on their account. Learn how to set up additional protective features for your child in the Parents: How to Link a Child’s Account help article.
After your account is linked to the child’s account:
- Log into your account
- Go to Settings
- On desktop: Click the gear icon located at the top right
- On mobile: Click More located at the bottom right, and select Settings (gear icon)
- Select Parental controls
- If you have more than one child account linked, select the account you want to update
- Scroll down to Settings you manage
- Select Content maturity
- Choose the content maturity level for your child’s account. You can change the level at any time.
Users under 13 will have the ability to lower the content maturity level on their own account, but may require parent permission to select certain values.
