What can I do in Forums?
Whether you’re a member contributing to discussions or an owner managing the space, Forums include features that make conversations organized, interactive, and easy to moderate:
Create Posts
Start a new discussion in a Forum by pressing the Create Post button. When creating a post, you can give your discussion a title up to 100 characters long, and a body up to 1,000 characters. You can also set the category you want your post to be published to.
Comment, Reply, and React
You can leave comments on posts, and replies on comments. Posts, comments, and replies can also be reacted to with one of nine reactions.
Subscribe to Posts
You can be notified of new comments in posts you’re interested in by Subscribing to the post from the Actions menu (⋯). Users will be automatically subscribed to posts they created, but can unsubscribe at any time.
Pin Posts
Owners and permitted users can pin and unpin posts by selecting the option from the post’s Actions menu (⋯). Pinned posts appear at the top of their respective forum category for as long as they are pinned. Each category can have up to one pinned post at a time.
Lock Posts
As an owner or member with the "Lock posts" role permission, you can lock posts in Forums by pressing the Actions menu icon (⋯) and selecting Lock Post. Locked posts can still be read, but no new comments, replies, reactions, or edits can be made to the post. Users with permission to lock posts can also unlock posts by following the same steps before selecting Unlock Post.
Users can also lock posts they created at any time without any special permissions. When a user locks their own posts, only they can unlock it again.
Delete Posts, Comments, and Replies
Owners and permitted members can also delete posts, comments, and replies. Unlike locked posts, deleted posts are no longer visible to anyone, and deleted content cannot be restored. When a post is deleted, all comments and replies on the post will also be deleted.
Users can delete any posts, comments, or replies they created at any time. When a user deletes their account, their forum content will automatically be deleted.
Hide Posts, Comments, and Replies
You can hide any post, comment, or reply you don’t want to see at any time by pressing the Actions menu icon (⋯) and selecting the Hide option. Content that you hide is only hidden from your account, and other users will not be informed which content you’ve hidden. You cannot unhide content once it has been hidden.
Blocking and Reporting
Users can report content and block users by interacting with the Actions menu (⋯) on any piece of content in a Forum. When you block another user, you will no longer see their posts, comments, or replies.
