FAQ: 2-Step Verification

What is 2-Step Verification?

2-Step Verification adds an extra layer of security to your Roblox account. In addition to your username and password, you'll enter a 6-digit security code that Roblox sends you via email when you log in from a new device. Since only you have access to your email account, only you will be able to get the security code. It is important you maintain ownership and enable security on your email account.

2-Step Verification is also referred to as 2SV for short, or on other platforms it may be called Two-factor authentication.

How can I enable or disable 2-Step Verification on my account?

Enable or disable 2-Step Verification from your Account Settings Security tab. You'll need a verified email address in order to use this feature.

What should I do if I'm not receiving the 2-Step Verification email?

Try these steps if you're not receiving the 2-Step code at the email address verified on your account.

  1. Check your Spam folder to see if the message was filtered by your mail provider. If you do find it there, mark it as "Not Spam" to prevent future filtering.
  2. Add the email address no-reply@roblox.com to your email Contacts.
  3. If you have more than one email, make sure to check all of them in case the code email went to one of your other email addresses.
  4. Use the "Resend Code"  or "Start Over" feature on 2-Step Verification login screen.

If you're still not receiving the 2-Step code after following those steps, please contact us via the methods linked below.

What should I do if the code does not work?

2-Step Verification codes expire after 15 minutes and become invalid when a code is entered incorrectly for that account.

Use the "Resend Code" feature on the 2-Step Verification login screen to request a new code. If you're still unable to log in with a new code, please contact us via the methods linked below.
